Terms of Service
Effective date: 2 September 2026 Last updated: 2 September 2026
These terms govern your use of RigShed, the guitar amp and effects app for iPhone, iPad and Mac. By downloading or using RigShed you agree to them.
RigShed is provided by David Bailey trading as RigShed, of 10 Watergate Row (North), Chester, CH1 2LD, United Kingdom ("we", "us", "our"). Contact: [email protected].
1. Your licence to use RigShed
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use RigShed on devices you own or control, in line with Apple's usage rules.
You may use RigShed for anything you like, including commercial work — recording, performing, streaming and releasing music made with it. We claim no rights over the music you make.
You may not: copy, sell or redistribute the app itself; reverse-engineer it except where the law allows you to; or remove our branding and pass it off as your own.
2. Free and paid tiers
RigShed is free to download. There is no timed trial: the free tier is permanent, and includes the full tone engine — both amps, every pedal, every voicing, the cabinet, and unlimited amp captures and cab impulse responses.
The paid tier ("RigShed Pro") unlocks additional capability such as the five-track looper, longer loops, more looper memory slots, unlimited saved presets, preset sharing, the backing-track player and the full ten-lesson rig course. The exact split is shown in the app.
RigShed Pro is sold as a monthly auto-renewing subscription and as a one-off purchase. Where an introductory free period applies to the subscription, it is an Apple introductory offer: Apple applies it, and Apple ends it.
We may change what sits in each tier. If we move something out of the free tier that you already rely on, we will not remove it from anyone who already has it.
3. Purchases, renewals and cancellation
All payments are handled by Apple, not by us. Your purchase is a transaction between you and Apple, governed by Apple's terms, and we never see your payment details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
- Cancel at any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not refund the current period.
- Lifetime is a one-off purchase, not a subscription, and does not renew.
- Refunds are handled by Apple. We cannot issue them. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Prices may change. Apple will notify you of any subscription price rise and ask you to agree before it takes effect.
Your right to cancel
If you are a consumer in the UK or EU you normally have 14 days to change your mind about digital content. Because RigShed's paid features are made available immediately, you agree that supply begins straight away and acknowledge that you lose that 14-day right once it has. This does not affect your other legal rights, and refund requests still go through Apple.
4. Your content
Presets, loop recordings, tone captures, impulse responses and any music you make with RigShed are yours. We do not claim ownership and we cannot access them — they are stored on your device.
If you share a preset file with another player, that is between you and them.
Back up anything you care about. Presets and recordings live on your device. Deleting the app deletes them, and we have no copy to restore.
5. Third-party captures, impulse responses and audio
RigShed lets you load amp captures (.nam files) and cabinet impulse responses
from outside the app, and to play your own audio files as backing tracks.
You are responsible for having the right to use anything you load. Many captures and impulse responses are shared freely, but some carry licence terms, and some may not be the uploader's to share. We do not check, endorse or warrant any file you bring in.
The same applies to backing tracks: use music you own or are licensed to use, particularly if you are streaming or publishing the result.
6. Independence and trade marks
RigShed's amps, cabinets and effects are our own original designs and models. Names, artwork and voicings are ours.
RigShed is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any amplifier, pedal or instrument manufacturer. Any third-party names that appear in user-supplied capture or impulse response files are the marks of their respective owners and are used by those users, not by us.
7. Hearing safety
RigShed produces amplified sound and can generate very high output levels, especially through headphones.
Protect your hearing. Set your levels low before you play, raise them gradually, and take breaks. Prolonged exposure to loud sound can cause permanent hearing damage. You are responsible for the volume at which you listen, and for the equipment you connect RigShed to.
8. Acceptable use
Do not use RigShed to break the law, infringe anyone's rights, or attempt to interfere with the app's security or licensing.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to keep RigShed working and to keep improving it, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability. Features may be added, changed or removed — including optional integrations with services we do not control.
Operating system updates from Apple can affect how the app behaves. We will make reasonable efforts to keep it compatible with supported versions of iOS, iPadOS and macOS.
10. Warranties and liability
RigShed is provided "as is". To the extent the law permits, we exclude implied warranties and do not promise the app will be error-free or fit for a particular purpose.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under UK law.
If you are a consumer, you have legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 in relation to digital content that is faulty, not as described, or not supplied with reasonable skill and care. Nothing here affects those rights.
Subject to the above, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of recordings or presets, loss of profit, or loss arising from third-party files or services you choose to use. Our total liability to you will not exceed the amount you have paid us for RigShed in the twelve months before the claim.
11. Ending these terms
You may stop using RigShed at any time by deleting it. We may end your licence if you materially breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive — ownership, liability, governing law — do so.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change materially affects your rights we will make it clear in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use RigShed after a change means you accept it.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of your own country's law.
