Free and paid
The whole tone engine is free. Forever.
Both amps, every pedal, every voicing and the cabinet stay free, and so do as many captures and impulse responses as you care to load. There is no paywalled tone, no timed trial to fall off, and no advertising on either tier. What the paid tier adds is the power-user surface.
The free tier
There is no trial, because there is no cliff
RigShed used to include a 30-day trial of everything. It doesn’t any more, and that is an improvement rather than a cut. An everything-unlocked month only builds a cliff where the app gets worse on day 31 — which is the pattern this category resents most, and rightly.
So the free tier is the trial, and it does not expire. Both amps, all 38 pedals, the cabinet, the tuner, the reorderable chain, all fourteen factory presets and as many captures and impulse responses as you care to load. No paywalled tone. No advertising, on either tier.
What Pro adds is the power-user surface: the longer loops, the deeper library, the sharing, the backing tracks and the second half of the rig course.
- Both amps and all 38 pedals
- Unlimited amp captures and cab impulse responses
- Three looper tracks, 30-second loops
- Three saved presets
- The first five lessons of the rig course
RigShed Pro
Two ways to buy it, and no third
Monthly
£4.99 a month
First month free. Apple runs it and Apple ends it — there is no separate trial to remember.
Cancel any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the current month.
One-off
£39.99 once
Not a subscription. It does not renew, and there is nothing to cancel.
Eight months of the monthly comes to £39.92, so this is the obvious buy for anyone who has decided to stay.
There is deliberately no annual tier. £34.99 a year against a £39.99 perpetual is a dominated option, and a paywall with an obviously silly middle choice reads as a trick.
Prices are in pounds sterling and shown here for the UK store. The figures in the app, on the subscription screen, are the ones that apply — Apple sets the local price in every other territory, and all payments are handled by Apple.

How it works
Buying, renewing and cancelling
- All payments are handled by Apple. Your purchase is between you and Apple, and we never see your payment details
- The first month of the monthly subscription is free. Apple runs that month and Apple ends it — there is no separate trial to remember
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends
- Cancel any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; it doesn’t refund the current period
- The one-off purchase is not a subscription. It does not renew and there is nothing to cancel
- Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com — we can’t issue them
If we ever move something out of the free tier that you already rely on, we won’t take it away from anyone who already has it.
The tone is free either way
Start with all of it and decide later, or never.
