Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to your information when you use RigShed, the guitar amp and effects app for iPhone, iPad and Mac.
The short version: the RigShed app does not collect your personal data. There is no account, no sign-up, no analytics and no tracking. Your guitar signal, your presets and your recordings stay on your device.
The one exception is this website. If you choose to give us your email address to hear about the beta, we process that address — and only that address. That is set out in full in section 3.
1. Who we are
RigShed is provided by David Bailey trading as RigShed, of 10 Watergate Row (North), Chester, CH1 2LD, United Kingdom ("we", "us").

Where we do process personal data, we are the "controller" of it for the purposes of the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
2. What the app collects
Nothing. The app operates no servers, no accounts and no analytics. It does not send us your name, email address, location, device identifiers or usage data.
The app declares no data collection in its App Store privacy information, and that declaration is accurate: it contains no analytics, advertising, attribution or crash-reporting software of any kind.
Giving us your email address on this website, described next, is a separate thing that you choose to do. It does not happen in the app and it is not linked to anything you do in the app — we have no way to connect an address to a device, and no wish to.
3. The beta mailing list
If you enter your email address on this website to hear about the beta, this section is what happens to it. If you have not done that, none of it applies to you.
What we hold. Your email address, the date you gave it, whether you confirmed it, and whether a TestFlight invitation has been sent to you. Nothing else — no name, no IP address, no browser or device information, no tracking of what you looked at. The form asks for an address and only an address.
Why we may hold it. Your consent, under Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR. You give it by entering your address and then clicking the confirmation link in the email we send. Until you click that link we do not add you to anything.
What we do with it.
- Send you occasional email about the RigShed beta and its release. Not more than that, and never anything from anybody else.
- Send it to Apple, so that Apple can invite you to the TestFlight beta. This is the point of the list, and it is the part worth reading twice: your address is passed to Apple, who send you the invitation and who handle it under Apple's Privacy Policy. We do this only after you have confirmed your address.
Who else sees it. Two processors, and no one else:

We do not sell it, rent it, or give it to anyone for their own purposes.
How long. Until you unsubscribe, or until the beta ends and the list has served its purpose — whichever comes first. If you never confirm your address, we delete the unconfirmed record within 30 days.
Getting out. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately. You can also email [email protected] and ask us to delete your address, and we will. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.
Leaving the mailing list does not remove you from TestFlight — Apple runs that, and you leave a TestFlight beta in the TestFlight app itself.
4. What stays on your device
RigShed stores the following locally, on your device only. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else:

This data is held in the app's own storage area, and is shared between the RigShed app and the RigShed audio plug-in so both see the same library. Deleting the app removes all of it.
5. Your guitar signal and the microphone
RigShed needs access to audio input to work — that is the guitar signal it processes into amp and cab tones.
- Audio is processed live on your device and is not transmitted anywhere.
- Audio is not recorded unless you record it yourself with the looper. Loop recordings are saved to your device and stay there.
- We never receive your audio in any form.
You can withdraw microphone access at any time in your device settings, though the app cannot process a guitar signal without it.
6. Purchases
RigShed offers an optional paid tier. All purchases are handled by Apple.
- We do not see or receive your payment details, billing address or Apple Account information.
- Whether you are entitled to the paid features is determined on your device from Apple's own receipt. That check does not involve us.
- Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Apple provides us with aggregated, anonymised sales and download reports. These do not identify individual customers.
7. The optional feature that connects to another service
Two features reach outside your device. Both are optional, and neither runs unless you choose to use it.
Apple Music
If you use Apple Music as a backing track, RigShed uses Apple's MusicKit framework to search and play from your library. Apple asks for your permission first. Your Apple Music activity is handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not receive it.
8. Crash reports and diagnostics
We do not operate any crash-reporting service.
If you have chosen in your device settings to share analytics and crash data with app developers, Apple may make anonymised crash logs and aggregate usage statistics available to us. That sharing is controlled by Apple and by your device settings, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
9. Tracking and advertising
RigShed does not track you.
- No advertising. No ad networks.
- No tracking across other apps or websites.
- We do not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA) and do not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission, because there is nothing to track.
- No third-party analytics, attribution or marketing software of any kind.
10. Children
RigShed is a music tool suitable for general audiences and is not directed at children specifically. Because we collect no personal data, we do not knowingly hold any information about anyone, including children.
11. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights to access, correct, delete, and restrict the use of your personal data, and to complain to a regulator.
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is generally nothing for us to access, correct or delete — your RigShed data is on your device and under your control, and deleting the app removes it.
If you believe we hold information about you, write to [email protected] and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), the UK's data protection regulator.
12. Data transfers
The app collects no personal data, so it transfers none.
The beta mailing list (section 3) is a different matter. The list is stored in Cloudflare's Western Europe region. MailerLite processes it in the EU and the United States under standard contractual clauses, and Apple receives confirmed addresses in order to send TestFlight invitations, under its own policy.
Where you use the optional Apple Music feature, that service may process data internationally under Apple's own policy.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change what RigShed does with data, we will update this policy and change the date at the top. If a change is significant — for example if we ever introduce accounts or collect an email address — we will make that clear in the app before it takes effect, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
